This message will be deleted as soon as I can find the time to replace it with something better, hopefully very soon… probably this Sunday. Life is crazy busy right now. University is top priority, just as moving to Amsterdam is consuming most of my time. The rest? Well, I’m writing a second piece on Istria. The first was just an appetizer -which reminds me, I forgot to put down the name of that delicious beer-brand I tasted there.-, next comes the main course: my actual report of the trip. What did I do besides eat and enjoy the sunshine, hospitality and lovely company I had. For dessert: something history-related, yet still touristy (basically a mixture of my two great passions), probably drenched in olive-oil.

Also, as is still quite obvious, I’m busy improving the website. Sometimes pictures are added under the header ‘Gallery’ and random new posts can be found every now and then. The list of improvement to be made seems endless, but with a little effort made each day, it should soon look a whole lot better. And if not: only 7 weeks remain till this website can expect frequent updates again, as I embark on my next big trip to Colombia.

One last thing needs mentioning: I’m getting a lot of positive feedback on Istria. It seems everybody has either been there or is going there. My dad actually called me yesterday, asking whether I’d seen the big promo’s hanging all across the Netherlands. Which, to my embarrassment I must admit, I hadn’t. In fact, before January I’d never heard of the region. But then again, my days are usually spend abroad or whilst studying history books, so that shouldn’t be too surprising. Which reminds me: I just finished reading a book on Croatia. Very interesting!

Anyway, my point was: Istria seems to be gaining popularity. It has all my friends talking about it (even before I started pestering them with my newfound love for the olive tree) Good job Istria!
